18/3/09: We arrived about 9 and didnt have a clue where the hostel was- the place was very quiet and there was nothing around. We looked on a map and managed to find it. The reception was closed but they had left us an envelope with a key in and a note on. The hostel is a lot smaller and quieter than most we have been to. We went up to room which we shared with 5 guys- it was ok. We looked around but then went to bed and read.

19/03/09: This is such a quiet place. There is literally about 5 shops and a supermarket. We got breakfast from supermarket and then walked down to the beach which was very beautiful- very long and sandy. We walked along. We went on internet to try and book somewhere to stay in Townsville tonight but everywhere said it was full so we started panicking. We ended up phoning one of the hostels who said phone back after 1 and then they said they could fit us in luckily. Mission beach is not somewhere I would recommend- its a bit quiet and there is nothing here. We picked up our bags and went to wait for the bus which picked us up at 3.10- it was a lot busier. The journey was about 4 hours but we stopped for 30 minutes for a food and toilet break and the scenery was quite cool.
