22/02/09: We had to get the bus at 8.30 so up nice and early and then we set off to Nelson Lakes national park- which was absolutely gorgeous- there was a huge clear lake surrounded by mountains- we went for a walk about the forest. Then chilled by the lake and had lunch. We set off through the mountains to Westport- beautiful scenery. A funny day- it was sunny one minute and raining the next. A lot of driving today. We arrived in Westport and checked into the quieter of the two hostels to avoid scenarios like last night and mooched to the supermarket to get tea, which we then cooked- a nice healthy stirfry!! We have got a fancy dress party tomorrow and the theme is "B" words- so if anyone has any ideas..... I'm thinking batman or barbie will b quite easy! Might pop out for a drink later but Westport is very quiet and there is hardly anything here! we went out about 9 and met up with the others on the bus in a bar in town for a drink or two. We got quite friendly with the girl in our room- a German girl called Lena. We watched a bit of the film 'bring it on' when we come back in the tv room before bed.
