On day 24 Mum and I went into Adelaide and had planned to go and see the South Australia Art Gallery, and the South Australian Museum. Which turned out to be a good idea as it decided to rain for us, so luckily we were inside not getting to wet when we were outside but it was nice and warm inside so we looked around the Art Gallery first which has some very traditional pieces dating back quite a few years ago and some that are more recent. There was Realms of Wonder: Jain, Hindu and Islamic Art of India display on which provided great cultural insight into what they represent and their cultural meanings to different religions/people. But I still stand by my decision how can modern art be art, I could sort of understand the comical side to this one for the sheer fact it's called 'Traffic'. I know its only two cases but I can see the thought process behind it, but it doesn't seem to be hard to come up with these unless you've got a name behind it to sell it. And the last piece of contemporary art work I thought was absolutely disgusting (PICTURE) I'm sorry for putting this on here but how can this class as art! After this we explored the Museum which provided a great insight into life and the history of an aboriginal and it also houses the largest collection of Southern Islands artifacts than anywhere in the world. After the museum's we thought that if we caught the trams to Glenelg it might decide to clear up but unfortunately not we got there and was on the next tram back into town.
Day 25 was another chilled day making sure I had all my things packed and making sure mum was all packed and then popping out to get a sleeping bag in case I have to sleep on the floor anywhere. Marion & Kristina made a lovely dinner with Hugh cooking our steaks and he got mine to perfection so that was a good meal with good company and good wine, what more could anyone ask for.
