So here we are; it's late morning on our final day in Japan.
Last night we were trying to work out how to cram a bunch of attractions we still had left to see into this last day. But what with trying to get ready for our early start tomorrow, and getting packed up and ready for China it all got a bit much, so we have decided to stay close to the hotel and chill out.
Tokyo and Japan are so filled with interesting things we could stay another week, and most likely we would still have too much to cram into our final day again! We have had a wonderful time here and have seen so many new ways of doing things. Yesterday we went to a restaurant where they cook the food on your table right in front of you, tried some tea ice cream, and viewed some unique art exhibits! Theres so much to tell you I couldn't write it all here. The architecture is stunning, from the old temples and shrines to the new and glistening skyscrapers.
And the Japanese people have been so friendly, so polite. The service in the hotel has been five star even though the place is budget accomodation, every effort has been made to make the place a really pleasant place to stay. Much better than the Eurohostel in Helsinki. And day to day about the city people are pleasant and courtious at every turn. I'm getting quite into the bowing, makes everything much nicer when your exchanging bows and smiles all day!
We've also had a great time visiting Kyoko and Megumi in Yokohama. Seeing the beautiful gardens and towering buildings around there. We're sad to be leaving, and also sad that a couple of day trips were out of our price range (Kyoto and Mount Fuji), but still we've seen Mount Fuji from the top of a skyscraper, just missed the close up! Never mind, as I say there is too much to do here in Tokyo anyway.
Hope you are all keeping well.
Love A n D xx
