Surfers Paradise: Aussie Blakpool
Unfortunately this place didn't live up to the name. There wasn't much surf all the days we were there and it definitely wasn't paradise. However no-one can take away from the place the vast impressive stretch of golden sand beach that stretches for as far as you can see each way. The town its self was a bit tacky with loads cheap souvenir shops and rubbish looking bars, it reminded me of Blackpool.
Out of the town and down the Gold Coast a bit further, the towns are slightly better and there is loads of expensive houses along side the creeks.
We flew back to Sydney again for our last few days in Oz. We had quite a chilled out few days lazing on Bondi and Tamarara beaches. Along the coastal walk the annual sculpture by the sea festival was on, and from Bondi all the way along to Tam beach there was crazy art installations. Halloween was round the corner so we got down to the $1 shops to get our scary goodies. On the day we had a big BBQ and a box of goon with our friends, got dressed up and hit the bars of Bondi. Soon I realised I was probably the only one in the bars with a fully painted face. Whats worse was that Ari painted me after she had had a few glasses of wine and so I looked more like a Panda than a vampire!
Our last day we went to the Bondi Icebergs salt water swimming pool in the sea and sauna. A very refreshing end to our Aussie trip.
