Hello everyone, 'Oh no...not another blog' I hear you cry! Don't worry, we wont be doing these every other day. We're on the move soon so don't know when we'll be able to update you all again so thought we'd get another update in whilst we can. As I said, we're on the move from NYC so big Frank will have edit his famous song just a little; 'Start spreading the news....Alan and Jules are leaving Saturday....! (Dad. STOP singing New York New York in your head and reliving the days you would swing the mic around whilst kicking your legs from side to side)We were hoping to stay until Tuesday so we could catch the St. Paddy's day parade but unless you are in with Donald Trump or have his money there are NO hotel rooms in NY this weekend so its off to Niagara Falls for us. Over the last week we've had a bloody great time and been doing some serious bus tours. So much so we still have numb bums! We've learned a great deal and got a good feel for the big apple (saying that I have no idea why they call it the big apple!!). Julie has requested we add a 'did you know' section to our blog so here it goes. She will be testing you all when we get home so pay attention. (Not as articulate as Miss Hancock's but Miss Crolla, we hope you like). - New Yorkers spend on average 78% of their income on rent (Sod that!!!!)- The Statue of Liberty is made out of copper and the sheets from which it is made are only the thickness of two coins- The Statue of Liberty is the green colour it is today thanks to the air. Oxidisation has caused it to turn green and it took 30 years for this to occur. (this is the same reason many sky scrapers have green roofs. Over the last couple of days we've seen where John Lennon was shot, seen the inspiration behind Friends, toured Harlem (didn't see any crazy blokes running around with basketballs though!) and even saw where Maury Povich lives. (The former tax dodging b******s amongst you or those who watch far too much daytime TV will know who he is).We went up the empire state building yesterday and that was magnificent but the most windy experience I have ever had, although the people I worked with at BDE group might argue otherwise!!! We visited ground zero today too. That is one emotional place let me tell you. It wasnt helped by the homeless fella playing Amazing Grace on the flute really well. There's is something about standing in the spot where something so bad happend. Looking up at the names of the people who lost their lives REALLY hits home. Tomorrow promises to be a great day. Its our last full day here so we're making it count. We've booked up to do the Sex and The City tour and we're going to spend some time in Central Park. Julie's also planning on going to Tiffany's so the credit card is going to be hiding! (No Mum/Nan....no engagement rings. As great as Julie is she still has a few boxes to tick yet!!!) Right, we're going to love you and leave you. Thanks for all the messages. Please keep them coming and check out our new pics. Hugs and manly handshakes.... Alan & Jules PS > Julie has asked what the chances of getting a Cadburys easter egg from one of you is. Good chocolate out here is as rare as rocking horse poooooh!
