Hello Everyone.
Hope you are well?
We are now in Niagara Falls, for a few more hours at least. As I type we have a few hours wait for our train to Toronto.
Our last full day in New York was fantastic. I had a walk over Brooklyn Bridge, it was magnificent and I wish you could have all seen the views. At this time Jules was cruising the shops on 5th Avenue!! Needless to say she had a wonderful time.
After this we had a horse and cart ride in Central Park. It's amazing how quiet it is in there. It really is like a different place. Then you turn around and you're soon reminded you are in NYC! As we were in the park none other than President Bush drove past us, complete with his 25 police cars and an ambulance. Apparently he travels everywhere with an ambulance in case he is shot! From what I gather there is plenty of people in the queue.
After that is was time for the long awaited Sex In The City Tour. It lasted a good 3 hours and was really good. It was a hop on hop off tour where you visited the different locations on the show. Various bars (where we had a cosmopolitan. Julie had 2!!!!) and of course Carrie's apartment. Jules really enjoyed it and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't the only guy on the tour either. I reckon the others, like me, were thinking of the brownie points and they were racking up!!
We were dropped off right by Grand Central Station so we had a quick look in that. It's enormous. There is a huge chandelier in the lobby which reminded me of the scene in Only Fools And Horses. ('Ready Dell Boy'.....CRASH!!!)
For dinner that evening we ate in Chris Noth's own bar (He plays Mr Big in Sex In The City) and had a lovely meal (more brownie points!).
We then went up to Times Square one last time and had a drink or two then headed home. We had a nice 9hr train journey the next day.
The journey itself went really quite and before we knew it we were at Niagara Falls. There was snow EVERYWHERE! Hadn't planned on that but it wasn't an issue. Just a little cold.
We visited Niagara Falls yesterday and it was wonderful. It looked great with all the ice. It was so thick and looked more like something from the Arctic. You find yourself looking at the falls wondering when they will stop flowing as the volume of water is incredible. In fact 348,000 litres fall per minute!
As we said above we are off to Toronto soon so back on the train. We'll try and update the blog again soon from there if we can.
Keep the messages coming please. It's lovely to hear from you all.
We have an internet phone which you can reach us on. It's a Manchester number 0161 711 7770 so all of you people with free minutes on your contract it's actually free to call us. Chances are it won't be on but you can leave us a message as we pick them up regularly.
Right, best go. Don't want to miss this train!
Hugs and Manly Handshakes......Alan and Julie xXx
