Oh what a great sleep.
Had a real prob finding that restaurant, the 4 friends were kinda travelling with at mo, Dom, Lauren,Sinead and Roseanna, gave up and went bowling of all things!!!! the 2 geezers we were hoping to hook up with didn't show, but we weren't surprised given the amount of trouble we had finding the place. We had the wrong pronunciation of the Inn, but an idea that it was on the waterfront from someones random blog. We probably walked for about an hour fending off tuktuk drivers, meandering along the Mekong waterfront, bit scary cos a lot of the shops etc had closed down, the odd pool of light from colonial style restaurants, laundries and local food stalls, but quite a lot of Europeans strolling, so wasnt too isolated. After getting directions from a helpful guest house and walking as far as the bend on the river we found it a really swanky French restaurant, run by a French couple, called if any one wants to check it out, with the right pronunciation, Le Calao Inn., La Cave restaurant, bit pricy, $42US for starters and acouple of properly cooked steaks, tho I had to send Alys back cos shes not used to French style medium, lol.
