I think the jet lag has set in! We were all wide awake at 5.30am!
After finally getting up on Sunday we went to the night zoo where it was really really dark! Could hardly see where we were walking, although they did have really nice toilets! We went to a show and round on a tram ride and took some trails. Haven't really got any pictures between us as it was so dark and couldn't use the flash as the animals were all nocturnal.
We got back round where we're staying and figured we hadn't eaten all day so had a tea of crisp butties (sorry mum!)
So, after our unexpected early start, we went to the Singapore flyer and hopped on a bus tour. In the words of Jade, "it was a glorious day and the sun is shining" so we went round the whole city tour. O think singapore is quite impressive, the buildings are big and fancy and look quite futuristic but not in a tacky way! Plus it's really green and as expected really clean and the people are friendly. I like it! So after this we started going round on the your again and got off at one of the city malls to get out of the heat for a bit and use an Internet cafe to print off some flight tickets for next week then went for some lunch. When we finished we came out to a really massive thunder and lightning storm which lasted for hours and was pretty much as impressive as the city itself! So after walking round for a bit getting drenched we hopped back on the bus for our 3rd cycle!! This time we got off at the Raffles Hotel which is lovely and Ruh and me sampled a singapore sling which cost us all our money, but when in Rome...
Tonight we were meant to be taking a tour of the cities Christmas lights but it got cancelled die to the storm, but from what we've seen of them today, they too are another impressive feature to Singapore. Instead we ventured to some food festival markets to sample the local cuisine. We played it pretty safe with our food choices but it was good.
The plan is to take a 5-6 hour bus tomorrow up to Kuala Lumpur and stay there a couple of nights. I've liked Singapore however I definitely won't miss the toilet/shower situation at this hostel! Let's hope KL can offer us better!
