So far day 9 hasn't been great, we got up at 5.30 to make a 6am bus that was running late, so se didn't get on til 7. Then the bus driver took the bumpiest route possible in scorching heat, so there was no chance of sleep or even reading. Customs was a nightmare, we were on and off the bus again and again.

BUT IT WAS ALL WORTH IT. Mancora is absolutely stunning, our hostel is right on the beach, there are little hammocks to chill on, and the sea is so damn blue. First thing we did was go cool off in the Pacific Ocean, which I had never been in before.

Then for dinner we went to a BBQ place, got chicken, rice and salad, and tried Pisco Sours, which is the local Peruvian alcohol, and after three I was sufficiently waved, the others all went to a party on the beach after that, but my roommate and I have had a stomach bug recently so I just went to bed
