Well just a quickie to say a big massive thankyou to all of you for the lovely birthday messages.The whole birthday thing just doesn't feel right the other side of the world, prob coz i'm not plastered in the garden throwing fire about with all the family and friends. Well the warm weather and the beer will just have to do untill Aug. Don't think i'm not celebrating properly this year, just delaying the celebrations till i am home with ALL the friends and family!!!

Well, we stopped in Mission Beach at the lovely 'treehouse' for 2 nites. randomly met up with some of Aine's friends from Henley, had planned to see them in Cairns but found them 3 hrs away in the highstreet of the smallest village we've stayed in yet! Totally random but very cool. We had a beer in the pub for lunch, beed tastes sooooo good when all you've had for weeks is goon! Then agreed to meet up for dinner. we all had the biggest steak and chips for tea, Wow, a huge plate of food, but cleared every last bit of it! we washed it all down with plenty of beer and the night was pleasently chilled and very enjoyable. Aine managed to smuggle in some candles from somewhere so i even had a birthday cake, Was pecan pie cake, but tasty and with a candle so all was good!

The weather was not however quite so appealing. the birthday was cloudy but dry, today is torrential storms, nice and warm but VERY WET! Plan for the eve is to find a sheltered spot and have an overdose of meat on a bbq with Jo, Alex and co from Henley. The beach is as beautifull as the picture above but not quite as sunny as the picture, (FYI, the island in the background is Magnetic island).

Just so you know we are off up to Cairns in the morning to find something fun to do in Port Douglas and Cape Tribulation. We only have 5 days befor we hand the car back, off the Sydney for 2 days and then out to Thailand for the next installment of the adventure.

Well for now, it's off to find something tasty for lunch and possibly a beer or 2 for the afternoon before the feast later! Once again a big thankyou for all the birthday messages, the e-cards are fantastic too, and i will update the site properly again soon.
