Hello again!
Thought I'd update you a little after the rather rushed ending of the entry last time! So, we stayed in Noosa, lovely little place, didn't see an awfull liot of it, the sun was shinning and thought we'd work on improving our tan lines a little! The beach was lovely and fairly quiet. although they did have 3 buldozers on the beach pushing all the sand back up it for some reason! We also had a very odd 2 mins where it rained from a lovely blue sky! Clouds were in the distance but not above us, and was boiling hot, then started to rain! We all looked a little confused and giggled with everyone else, then it stopped!
We then drove up to Hervey Bay to the lovely hostel so we could do our Fraser Island trip! WOW, think that has to be one of the highlights of the trip so far. Fraser was just amazing! We got a tour bus rather than a self drive, and so glad we did! The driver Warren was great, the island is the biggest sand island in the world and there are no roads, only sand tracks, offroad vehicles only. Have you ever seen an 18ton tour bus drive along the most bumpy and rediculous terrain? Warren is THE MAN!!!! A total legend! We saw Lake Macenzie, gorgeous white sands, the clearest water you have ever seen, like a huge bath! Picture postcard beautiful. we all went for a swim, was so lovely. Went for a rainforrest walk and followed a creek along the way. We walked accross a sand blow (like a dessert made from all the beach sand being blown inland.) to swim in another lake, not so clear this time, was a green lake! It was sooooo cold but after the treck across the desert, we needed a swim, then we saw the catfish in the water! Aine was sensible and watched the rest of us swim. Part of the package was free food all weekend, we stuffer ourselves silly, had second helpings of everything and still took take away bread and jam wrappen in napkins for snacks! We had a great nite with the lovely people on the bus, 7 of us that got on really well so gooned the nite away, went to the bar, then wend dingo spotting on the beach in the rain, We were less than quitet so didn't see much. The morning after we failed to get up early for sunrise (what a surprise!)Went up the beach to look at the shipwrecked Mehino, crashlanded in a storm in 1930's while being towed home for scrap. they just left it there on the beach to slowly decay and rust away on the beach. wierd to see but amazing at the same time. Then pootled up to the champagne pools, lovely shallow rock pools you can paddle in. Warren got the bus stuck in the sand, (did think we were going to be quite stuck for a while but the amazing Warren dug the bus out while we paddled in the pools!) we climbed up to Indian Head to admire the views, paddled up Elli creek, saw a wild Dingo on the beach, was only a pup and came right up close to the bus to have a nosy at all the tourists! got some great photo's. We went to another lake that was even more beautifull than the first, swam in that too! All of this in all the most stunning scenery i have ever seen, the whitest softest sand, the clearest water, and just so much fun. money well spent in my oppinion!
well just got back so totally shattered now and need to go to bed! might go for a bike ride 2morow round Hervey bay. then pootle on up the coast. talk to you all soon.
Lots of love to everyone and special big hugs to those that are not having such a lovely time at home, miss you all and wish colud give you hugs for real. Hope things get better soon. xxx
