We got up quite early so that we could make the most of the last free breakfast we would have, and to check out. After everything was sorted we decided to get the gondola up to the top of queenstown hill to go luging. The views from the top were amazing. We grabbed helmets and then got the chairlift to the very top where the luging took place. We had to do the beginners run first before we could go on the harder one. Both runs were really good fun and we raced the whole way down! The luges were like go-karts but had no wheels so you pulled the steering handles towards you to go then pulled them all the way to your body to stop. Once we got the hang of it we were whizzing down the track quite fast. We had three goes then went back to the viewing deck to take more photos of the view. We got the gondola back down then went to book accommodation for Tuesday night at base backpackers. We met Kerry and Anna at the hostel then went to get a ferg burger with them, we didn't eat one but they chose interesting ones. We went shopping for a bit then harry and I went back to the hostel to get our bags to then get on the bus to dunedin. It was quite a long journey to dunedin and we arrived about 8pm, we were starving and the only place still open was a Chinese. So we grabbed some food from there and went back to the hostel to eat it while watching the blindside. Our first day in dunedin started off by making the most of the free wifi to plan Australia. Then after a quick lunch we walked around the town centre and visited the Otago Museum. It was a huge museum with lots to see so it took a couple of hours to get round. I also had a go at the children's arts and crafts, making a stick maori man and a platypus! Afterwards we decided to walk to see the worlds steepest street, when we got there it was really steep so we didn't walk all the way up!! We grabbed pizza on the way back then spent the evening playing pool in the bar below the hostel. In the morning we went shopping in dunedin, before leaving to go back to Queenstown. When we got back to queenstown we dashed to base hostel to dump our bags and sort out our outfits for the evening. We then went to Fergburger for our last burger from there. I had the little lamby which was lamb and mint, it was really tasty!! Harry had the same as I had earlier in the week. We went back to the hostel, got ready then began our challenge to do both of the bar crawls we won in one night! We had a fab last night in queenstown, met up with all of our friends from previous buses and went to quite a few bars. We were up early to get on the bus to Christchurch. All very hungover we spent the whole day on the bus, only stopping a couple of times for food etc. We got to Christchurch then went for a meal with Kerry and Anna for our last night with them. Steve picked us up and we had a relaxing nights sleep at his. The next day we spent walking around Christchurch, seeing all the sights and comparing what the city currently looked like to photos of before the earthquake. There was a lovely green park to wonder around, where Steve later picked us up and dropped us at the airport for our flight to Melbourne. We were both quite sad to leave New Zealand, but excited to see what Australia was going to be like.
