Day 2/3 and as you would expect from us two we already slightly behind on the blog. Day 2 was a topsy turvey day for our emotions finding out it would cost £600 to fly from Caracas to La Paz so had a frantic day changing plans.
We did get to stroll down the beach afterwards before venturing into Caracas centre. We have our own personal chauffeur in Elias after we tipped him the first day he has offered free lifts every where including taking us to get breakfast. Plus, he bought us mcflurries so he is definitely in our good books.
We have booked our bus journey to Cuidad Bolivar for the an overnight journey which will be an experience. We ended up speaking to a guy in the bus station who was saying horror stories which didn't particularly make us feel comfortable but after 5 minutes all was forgotten and we were having a laugh again. There were a couple of gun shots in the distance but we choose to believer that was a military exercise.
I wouldn't recommend coming to this area but having said that the staff at Hotel Plazamar have been more than helpful, the views of the mountains are beautiful and there is not a cloud in the sky. There are literally no English people here which makes us stand out like a sore thumb but the locals are surprisingly helpful and able to communicate through numerous hand gestures.
Heading off to the beach now so we cant complain when we have the sun, sand and the sea!
