After sleeping in the jungle in our hammocks we are pretty certain we managed to survive the night without eating any spiders or bugs.
We had breakfast as a group and then packed our stuff and then had the journey home. It was the same route back only this time going down stream so it took half the time. It meant no numb bum on the way home but thirty seconds before we got off the boat the four of us, Maffe, Eric, Abigail and myself were absolutely soaked.
Dripping wet we grabbed lunch and then we were given a Spanish lesson by some of the others from our group. We are far from experts but at least now we know the essentials to order food, 2 beers or book a room. What else would we need to know.
On the flight back to Cuidad Bolivar we meet another guy who was going to Durham University which means there will be a friendly face for Abigail. He has told us about Rio so we are really excited to go there too now.
There was a group of kids doing the equivalent of world challenge at the airport who actually were staying at the same posada we had stayed at. A quick freshen up and dinner at the posada then Peter arranged a taxi to the bus station. That was an experience in itself.
Before now our night buses had been nice and easy going. This one, not so much! We have had to wait at the station which was raining and the shelter hasn't stopped our bags getting drenched. The lights are continuously flickering on and off, while being in a place like this, it is far from ideal.
Having just sat down, we are not even in our seats as two guys have apparently made themselves comfortable in ours. At this moment in time we have felt safer but it is all part of the travelling malarkey.
