Woke up early to catch the free guided tour around Sydney leaving from the Town Hall (George St) at 10.30am. It was led by a lovely uni student called Nick who showed us around the city's main areas for 3.5 hours! He showed us around the Queen Victoria Shopping Centre including statue of her dog that actually talks and when you throw a coin it is barks and says thankyou (weird), the Hyde Park and fountain there, the Rum hospital and Martin's Place, and Australia Square with the big rotating top floor so you can see all over Sydney. We walked all the way to the harbour area and into the customs house with a mini sydney you can walk over the top off. We explored the Rocks and walked right up to the Harbour Bridge, learnt so much about the city and Australia and the time flew!
Met Stan for lunch which ended up being us going up to the top of Australia building to the revolving floor and ordering tea, we had to spend $8 each to stay there so we ordered a pot of tea each for $5 and said we'd pay the excess just to stay- they agreed and we got great views over Sydney. Lucky when we came to pay the guy had left and a nice waitress let us have our tea for the normal price as they weren't busy, still the most expensive cup of tea ever!
Had a great meal in a Korean BBQ restaurant in China town (does every major city have a china town??) and Stan showed me how to eat Korean style by rolling everything up in salad leaves and putting it in your mouth, very ladylike way of eating.
Enjoyed Shrek fourth in 3D and we giggled all the way back to the hostel as Stan insisted King's Cross was dangerous and he must escort me home, 'go and get me my angry wig!'. Another great day in Sydney!
