Hello to all

Firstly thankyou to all the birthday well wishers... i had an awesome birthday... but more about that later.... lets start from where we left off.

After Kuala Lumpur we spent 2 hours on a bus to a town called Melaka, a little port village which was once one of the richest cities in the world until there was a war!

We stayed at a little guest house just outside the town.. it was so hot, 35oC in our room.... which had NO air conditioning... not good, we had a little wonder around Melaka but it was just too hot for any hard core tourism and so we found sanctuary in the massive Carrefour supermarket..... which was air conditioned.

after a few moments inside the nice and chilled supermarket i did realise that the heat was more appealing than being marched around the shop by kirsty. So we went out for some street food for dinner, which was very nice and even better cheap!!

We left Melaka the next morning (my birthday) to start our 5 hour bus trip to the border and enter Singapore. Checked into our hotel (which was the last of our prepaid accomodation)

So my birthday.... as birthday's go i think mine was unique....

for starters for my birthday i got... "real" T Bags, a bar of chocolate, banana cake, deodorant and an MP3 player... oh and my tattoo,.....

Never did i believe that i would be SO excited over receiving T Bags and cake for a present.... but it was so nice to have a proper cuppa!!

the next installment for my birthday was to go out for .... (another) Chinese!!!.... we only left china 2 weeks ago!!

After dinner we headed to the world famous Raffles hotel.... for the world famous Singapore sling!... which cost a world famous price of 9 Quid!!! (half a days budget)!

So its my birthday.. i'm in raffles and kirst arranges for the live band to sing happy birthday to me ... not only that but then i had to get up on the stage in front of everyone in the bar ... and the lead singer asks if i want to say a few words.... Probably not the finest moment of life.... as i did suffer with stage fright.... and then tried to pretend to sing along ..... and tried to be funny....

Didn't really work!!............ but unique never the less

As if my bday couldn't get any more interesting ..... our group commandeered a Karaoke bar.... where i personally performed some classic songs which i'm sure everyone loved.... and in my opinion i was probably the best singer there!!!(definatley in lee's opinion only!)

A fantastic time was had.... very unique!!

So me and Kirst awoke at 9 this morning after getting in at 2 for our last breakfast (with proper toast) with the group before we said goodbye and headed for the streets of Singapore.... Alone!!

So we left for the underground and found our way to our new home for the next two nights .... our first dormitory..... only a 4 bed dorm so not too bad... but then again we have not slept there yet... will update you on that later....

Tomorrow we are in for an all day wildlife adventure.... Singapore Zoo during the day... (Breakfast with Urangu-tangs)... and then on to the Night safari... we are both really looking forward to that!!
