Been touring the states for over a week now. Been to Florida, California, Nevada and Arizona. Started in Miami which was great because it was really hot and the hotel was posh wit
h a cool pool. So it was a good contrast to Bolivia. I then flew to San Francisco and met pat. Wierd seeing someone from home as it feels like I have been travelling for ages no.
We spent 5 days in San Francisco which looking back, was too long. But, we did get to see loads of the city. No one warned us how cold and foggy it is! It was hard to get a clear shot of the Golden Gate bridge. This however we took for granted when you hear about later in yhe trip!
also went clubinv in san fran with some crazy swedish girls and two cool canadian chicks.
So in San Francisco we hired some bikes and went over the bridge and also saw the A T&T baseball stadium which was cool! We also went and saw Alcatraz and Golden Gate park.
We hooked up with our tour group who were cool and hit the road to Yosemite. Absolutely amazing place, especially the misty trail which is a hike to a huge watwrfall. You get absolutely soaked!
Over the next few days we visited Bakersfield (nothing there!) Then we visited Death Valley (I nearly bloody died!) It was 50 degrees. Good to visit but I'm not going again!
Finally we got to Las Vegas (of course Pat puts viva las vegas on in the van as we cruise down the freeway!)
Vegas was a laugh. Played a bit of blackjack, went to some clubs and visited the fancy massive casinios like caesar's palace and the venitian which has all the venice waterways. Pretty cool.
We then visited the Grand Canyon and took a helicopter ride over which was amazing. Finally we headed to Los Angeles which is where we are today. We visted Hollywood and the stars etc which is all good but not as glamorous as expected. However Pat and I are hiring a car tomorrow (which will be interesting as the roads are very different here and it is an automatic...at least I am driving and not Pat as he still hasn't grasped that the cars are on the otherside of the road here!)
So tomorrow we are going to Universal Studios and it is Independence Day here which is a bg thing. We are then going to drive to Orange County the day after and then Pat heads home and I continue to New York! Oh forgot to say ~ today we viskted the town where the film Cars
is based on. It is called Seligman. Cool ey! Anyway I'll leave it there. Home a week on sunday. I have forgotten what you all look like and where I live.
Oh by the way. I apologise for typos. I'm typing on my blackberry and its hard to edit and I can't be bothered to edit it all. Plus I'm on holiday so ...meh.
