After a morning run, today started with another ferry ride, only this one is a bit shorter and it's free. There is a cable ferry to get across the Murray at Wellington. I got to drive the car and van on a ferry! There's a speed limit!
We took the coast road down along the Coorong, which I had been very much looking forward to. Unfortunately, it proved to be long and bumpy and not very interesting. The towns are mostly agricultural centres. The view of the Coorong is underwhelming - just some sand dunes and water. It's fun to drive along a road that runs right through a swamp though.
Mount Gambier is quite nice. The Blue Lake looms up at the bottom of the town. It is an amazing site. They actually use the water as the town water supply and the water level has dropped. You can sort of see that on the side of the caldera where the colour of the rock changes to white. It's still about 70m deep though! The van park was good with an ensuite and right on the side of the lake so we can go for a walk there tomorrow.
Picked up J's new Surface and did the shopping. It's surprisingly fun just to do simple stuff now like buying groceries or laundry.
