So I left Ko Samui with 100 Baht (2quid), and set off towards the Malaysian border ready to meet a friend on Christmas Day. I knew the day was gonna be bad when I found a cockroach the size of an apple in my bag (seriously) and I decided the best thing I could do was to spray it with insect repellent, but considering that "apparently" these things will be the only things left after a nuclear explosion, the chances of getting rid of this thing with insect spray was non existent so I went for the next best thing...JUMP UP & DOWN on my bag for about 5 minutes and pick the remains out with a tissue. I'm not a nuclear bomb, but it did the trick.
Finally after getting back to the mainland, I spend the next 4 hours in the smallest minibus known to man. Try thinking a rascal with 9 people in, no air con, solid seats and a driver who was driving so slow I think I could've kept up if I got out and walked. In fact the only reason I didn't was because it was raining.
You'd think his slow driving would have been reassuringly safe and it would of been until another van driver took his front wing off and buckled his wheel. Don't worry folks I'm OK!!! I couldv'e flicked the side of the bus and the same thing would've happened.
After that happened we had to wait a few hours for a replacement bus to take us the rest of the way to Hat Yai. As soon as I got there, I went on a mission to find a place that changed travellers cheques but I soon found out that Saturdays also exist in Thailand which means all the banks are shut...which means I've got 100baht for a room and unless I find somewhere to change my money before 6:30am tomorrow (Sunday), I have to miss my train and stay another night...hmmm!!!
So I have to love you and leave you and do some investigation.
Speak to you all again soon
