Adam and Lu's travels
G'day all...
Finally we get back to westernisation, which comes as a welcome break after Samoa, despite it being so tropical!
At last we have our own home.... aka luxury Ford Transit with comfortable bed, hot shower, electric pooper and a kitchenette for Lu to get busy on!
I have been in my element cooking again after so long, and i think Adam is in his element too, gorging on rump steak, home cooked fries, and all the other favourites.... Thai curries that burn his delicate mouth (and ring)!!!
Meat is so cheap here, if i did not know better we would be having steak every day!
NZ (north island) has been really beautiful spot for roadtripping...we've covered about 2500km in 2-3 weeks.
So far have not met any bubbly Moari's...dont think their too keen on us westerners! Have scored a few sessions in the sea...but the weather is more unpredictable than the UK!!......waiting for swells to arrive is doing me nut in!....
Have beeen gettin out on the hills...communictaing with the local sheep and spotting some lovely views. NZ is definately the place for the rambling type (Terry, Marion, Rob, Will), we have been getting out most days, when i can drag Adam away from the beach! The beaches are also amazing places to walk, as they are so long, and as the piccies show, you can be walking along the beach with water warm enough to dip your toes in whilst looking at snow capped mountains!
Finding a place to free camp is pretty easy, but there have been a few six fingered localities that would make north devon look Cosmopolitan, and needless to say, we drove right on through!
Weather has not been as cold as expected, still refusing to wear anything but flip flops! The tan is fading, but clinging on for dear life... especially for adam as he has become afraid of hot showers!
So, were are off to the south Island, to enjoy the cold weather and meet the penguins! ...........
P.S. Photo's to follow when I remeber to bring in the Camera!
