We had a lay in today to catch up on our sleep, got up about 9am and had breakfast. It was nice, a good selection of food & even though i am not keen on breakfast i am glad we have it included with our stay as the food kept us going until 4pm!!
After breakfast Adam went to the room to chill out, i booked some pamper treatments. I had a foot massage & Back, neck, shoulder & head massage all for £11.00 - the whole treatments lastest 1hour 45 mins. I felt so much better after & was all refreshed to start the day.
We got some supplys from the local shops (7eleven) i thought it was cheap for what we brought. ( 8 large bottles of water, 4 cans of drink, 2 packets of Lays crisps, 3 chocolate bars & 2 packs of biscuits for around £4.00) That should last us now as we stocked up to save us using the minibar where one bar of chocolate is £2.00!!!
Around 2pm we headed to Siam square which is where all the shopping malls are. We travelled there by monorail, it was 4 stops away from where we are staying and cost us 50p each to go on the monorail. We walked around looking in shops for a while & then had some dinner. It took us ages to pick somewhere to eat because they all looked decent & there was too much choice. In the end we went to Asian Cuisine restuarant as we wanted to try some Thai food. Adam picked what he was having & i went with the same as it sounded good. I was not dissapointed - the food was amazing, Flat rice noodles with chicken (Adam had pork) egg & Thai Brocolli with soy sauce & a portion of veg spring rolls to share. Yum Yum! We haven't really come across the mega cheap food everyone has told us about yet (3 courses for £5.00) But the food has been real good value for money. Our dinner was £12.00 for both of us with drinks, we are now thinking that the cheaper places to eat are prob more dodgy so we don't mind paying more to be safe.
After dinner we walked around the street market sections, it was very hot today & humid you often forget the temperature when you are cool in the air conditioned malls. On the streets people were selling all sorts such as clothes, mobile phone bits, food, bags, shoes & hand made items. It was fansinating to see how they live, some people don't even have stalls they just sit on the floor. Luckly we haven't been hastled by anyone selling stuff, they seem pretty chilled & just let you walk by and browse. Some of the food looked horrible i wouldn't even want to know what it was! Everywhere you look there are Thai people eating street food, either at plastic tables on the paths or sitting on steps/ wherever they can.
On the way back to the hotel we thought it would be fun to go on a Tuk Tuk -it was an amazing experience but strangly not as cheap as the monorail/ car taxis. We paid £4.00 to get back and we were on it for about 15 minutes, the breeze was lovely when we were going fast. We have recorded some videos so you can see how it looked from our angle on the road!
We have had a wicked day sightseeing & arrived back to the hotel just as it was getting dark so that was a result!
Can't wait to see what we might do tomorrow, we have found another waterpark here so we may try that out. Now off to bed so we will be up early tomorrow.
