So today I survived the Nazca Lines!
This morning we woke up to clouds so we weren't sure we would get to do the flights so we visited a local cemetery in the morning. The cemetery is famous for grave robbers attacking and stealing a lot of bodies etc but they have a few uncovered tombs with the bodies intact so you can see the bodies of the people with their skin and hair intact, it was pretty amazing but pretty creepy, I wouldn't like to be dead and exposed in a ditch!
From this the weather cleared up so we headed for the airport and after being weighed and some very specific calculations were made, we sat around for a while then boarded a tinylight aircraft and headed for the skies! The flight itself was pretty bumpy and a lot of people felt sick but it was amazing to see the lines from the skies and really makes you wonder who, how and why the lines, such as pictures of a monkey or even a spaceman, were put there! All in all a pretty amazing day! Next stop - arequipa!
