Last night after chilling in the hotel for ages watching tv we eventually left for the bus station, only to get there to be told the bus was delayed so all feeling pretty exhausted we took over the waiting room and watched Ferris Bueler's Day Off, then 13 Going On Thirty (!?!?!). It was a pretty long wait be then the bus eventually turned up and we started on our 9 hour trip down Yo Arequipa, arriving around 9am feeling tired and pretty disgusting as the bus was not too comfortable and the breakfast was bad, but it was all ok as we got to watch Toy Story 3 before arriving.
We got to our hotel to find it again had a pool, I wish we would have time to make use of these pools as it's pretty amazing!
After an orientation myself and a few others headed for a tour of the convent. Basically this convent is Like a mini city within a city, completely surrounded by a huge wall. The convent once housed 450 nuns but that number slowly declined and in 1970 the nuns decided to open the convent to the public and they would live in a small private section inside. We had a private tour guide who gave us a lot of info about the history of the convent and the nuns but I am pretty sceptical about religion and when the guide told us one of the nuns could levitate and be in two places at once I couldn't help but laugh a little, quietly though, I was in a convent after all. Right now I am sitting by the pool in the freezing cold wearing my alpaca hat, gloves and jumper. This us the coldest it has been since I arrived in Peru but it's pretty refreshing, and will only get colder. We are going out for dinner tonight then to some of the clubs as the night life is meant to be pretty awesome, however we have a 7am wake up tomorrow, should be interesting!
