Hi everyone!
Well since our last blog we haven't done too much other than look for a new place to stay! As some of you are aware when we arrived at our hostel here in Hong Kong it was less than pretty! The room we were staying in had cockroaches and then bed was made out of a 2cm thick piece of wood (thats it) and there was a coat hanger conducting the electricity to the tv (which for obvious reasons we dare not turn on). After our first day out we came back to realise the window was unable to shut so it had blown open, rained and soaked not only the room and bed but all our stuff! Needless to say we were less than impressed! We have now found a nicer place to stay, it isn't great but it's better, it has ensuite and is $5 less for each of us than the previous room! Even though others in our first hostel were being charged $20 less than us?!? Anyway moving on from that we have been looking around Tsim Sha Tsui which is where we are staying, and it is a short train or boat across to Hong Kong Island and its cheap to get there so that is always great! The weather here has been terrible, constant rain, but we are making the most of it and still having a wicked time! Even though its raining its still boiling hot so you often see men with shorts, flip flops, no top and an umbrella! lol! We stuck to shorts and T-shirt!
Today we went on the longest esculator in the world, which isn't half as impressive as it seems! It doesn't go on for ever it stops and starts alot but it does go up very very far, thing is when you get to the top there is nothing to see, no where to sit and nothing to do so you have to walk all the way back done (cheap skates didn't bother to build one for those going down, lol!) So off we trod in our flip flops and rain macs all the way back down!
And thats all we have done, up until writing this! Things are more expensive on the weekends so we cant do too much, but for Monday we are going to Disney World theme park (bet your all jealous now) and Tuesday off to Macau which is a short boat ride away, and then Wednesday we finally have a flight booked to go to Vietnam so we can't wait for that!
Will keep you all posted again soon, dont be too jealous of the great weather here in Hong Kong, hehe!
Love to all
