Hi Kids!
Wanted to give you an update about the S.C. show. Everything went pretty well considering we had some major adjustments to make. When we play a smaller theater, and we will on several occasions, we're not able to use all of our sets and equipment, so when we do it's a "modified show". And the cast and crew have to make changes here and there, sometimes minor, sometimes major to accommodate those changes. Kinda throws you a little but everyone did a great job of adjusting and apart from some equipment issues the shows felt pretty good.
It's great to finally get started for real after the New Years break, I think everyone was anxious to get going. I'm sure we'll all feel like we wish we had a break after a couple of months of hoppin' in the bus for hours and hours everyday but as for me? There's no place I'd rather be right now.
Didn't get to see much of South Carolina since we were there just overnight. Weather was nice though, sunny and in the sixties when we showed up. It's, in some ways, like you'd expect, there are a lot of big Baptist or Four Square or New Light or whatever churches around and the most interesting tidbit I found was a restaurant that had on it's signage, " Bring in your church bulletin and get 10% off"...pretty cute.
As you may know we had a Monday night performance then a 9:30 show the next day. As bad as it sounds it was actually pretty fun. They bussed in a ton of high schoolers and middle school kids for the show. Bet they were jazzed about just not having to go to school that morning. They were a bit quieter through the show than I thought they'd be but got pretty loud toward the end. And when Erik and Lindsay came on for their bows the screams were so deafening you thought the roof might come off.
Well, on to Springfield!
Be back soon
Glenn
