First I'd like to thank those of you that read this thing. It's nice to see that I'm not just talking to myself.

This weekend us a very special weekend for me. It's the one time of year that we are reminded of the sacrifice that others have made and are making for our freedom. We SHOULD have this on our minds at all times. Without these brave individuals we wouldn't have the freedoms that we enjoy. Both of my grandfathers served, as did many of my uncles, cousins, and friends. I could have, but I chose a different path. There are times I regret that choice, but I am always thankful for those that did make that choice.
So, this weekend is special. It's a time that we can reflect on what we have…and what it cost. We can be thankful that there are thousands of men and women that 'have our back.'. That we can sleep peacefully tonight knowing that someone's wide awake keeping us safe. That there are people fighting for a flag that some of their own countrymen want to burn. That some are willing to sacrificeTHEIR lives for OUR freedom.
