So I'm a freshman again? Well maybe not but it sure feels that way. Except as of yet we are not kept nearly as busy as we were at freshman orientation. I got to Colorado Heights University campus around 2, filled out paper work and went to sign in at my dorm. At this point my dad had already left and Lauren had to leave to take her dad to the airport.
My roommate has been on the phone basically since I arrived. I unpacked my room but still have a few hours to waste until dinner then a group meeting.
Quite a few people already seem to know each other. I can't tell if that's from traveling together or just meeting up in the hallways. I've introduced myself to a few people and I'm sure I'll meet more at dinner and the team meeting.
The next few days are sort of full of activities but our evenings end surprisingly early (not many obligations after dinner). I'm sure I'll be grateful for the free time before long but right now it just seems like a recipe for extreme boredom. Maybe I'll finally be able to read some books again.
I can't wait to dive in and learn about the different projects this program participates in. I really hope my group gets assigned to a project like the community garden in Austin, TX that one of the previous groups did.
Regardless of what we do I am very excited for the opportunity to see the direct result of our efforts.
