G'day everybody! (sorry, it had to be done). Arrived in Oz yesterday and walked straight in to a country gripped by an ashes frenzy. Mixed reviews in the papers for their chances today, especially after strauss, pietersen and freddie scored a few runs in the latest warm up match. Good to see that Ian Bell is not wasting any runs though - am sure he is saving them all for the test matches. Perth is a nice, but strange city. Apparantly there are 1.7 million people who live here, but the city centre is about the size of southport's and about as busy as churchtown village!

Anyway, last night we got to our hostel and found it had a promotional night on at one of the nearby bars. We later found out that beer is also a more reasonable price in this country! The bar had a live band on, which towards the end of the night played 'Land down under' by Men at work - brilliant!! The aussies went wild! Unfortunately they also played a load of songs by a band called 'budgie'?? Not so brilliant!

Today we have not been up to much, just sorted out a few things before tomorrow when we set off up the coast in our campervan! The van is personalised with some crazy graffiti - wait for the photos! Free bbq promotion night tonight - will certainly be taking advantage of that one!
