Breakfast at 8 and away at 0925. The route today just followed the coast, beside the railway, but there was quite a bit of dodging down to the quiet roads on the coast side of the railway, then back to the main SS16 at major river crossings. I went up a very steep hill to Casteldimezzo (East of Cattiloca). A bit of a struggle, but I rewarded myself with a coffee and cake in Ristorante Bellavista at the top (see photo). Later, back at sea level, I had spaghetti carbonara for lunch in Torrette di Fano. I put my hand in the Adriatic just East of Senigallia. The Garmin then took me up a steep hill in Falconara for no apparent reason. Eventually I rolled up at the Albergo Gino just by the railway station in Ancona. Fairly plain hotel, but OK. After checking in I walked up the hill towards the old town with the idea of having dinner there, but didn't go far as I realised it was quite a long way, and I could see it tomorrow. So instead I had dinner in the Albergo.
