The day before school, you think we would at home kicking it back right? Just laying in bed cuddling our kittens,(yes we both have kittens!), binge watching Netflix and drinking endless cups of chocolate milk (yes, chocolate milk is the bomb.com), just trying to relax before the stress of the new semester comes around the corner. WRONG. Here we are, your die hard dedicated coordinators, sitting here in the cube, partners in crime, since 7 am, as we get in our last 5 required office hours, that we both put off to the last second. At least we have each other :) Just call us the procrastination queens! We may have taken a little nap at the desk... Planning this trip is SOOOOO much more work than we expected. The months we thought we had flew by and we are left sitting here panicking hoping we didn't procrastinate too much! With our 5 hours here today though we should be all good to go and get caught up. It still doesn't feel real, and probably won't until we get all our cute little participant babies! If you're reading this we are so excited to meet you and hope you see all the hard work, time and dedication we are pouring into this program. Everything we do though, we do for you to ensure you all have the best experience possible and get the most out of this program! We know journaling isn't easy, we are Criminal Justice and Science Majors. This will be the most Danielle has written in her entire college experience. However journaling provides a method of reflection that is a critical part of the alternative break program. It allows for the synthesis of the direct service, education, and community interaction components. While journaling itself might seem unnatural and a hassle, it is the most organic method our participants would appreciate as a method of reflection and that is why we do it ourselves with this blog. We would never ask anything we ourselves wouldn't do! We sat at this computer staring blankly for at least 20 minutes, not knowing what to write, so believe me we understand the struggle associated with having to journal, but the best things are never easy so I guess we must be doing something right :) We should probably be getting back to work now, but until next time! Thanks for staying with us! <3
