We arrived in Munich in the snow, quite relieved to find the campsite ony about 1km from the motorway In the treacherous conditions. Had a minor scare on the way thinking our brakes had gone again but turned out to be the anti-lock kicking in!
We spent an afternoon shopping in the city centre which felt really Christmassy in the snow with the Xmas Market and all the decorations.
In the evening we met up with a friend of mine Andi and had a brilliant time catching up over a few drinks. Andi took us to a huge Christmas Market on the site where Oktoberfest is normally held. The place had a fantastic atmosphere with lots of stalls and food & drink stands selling Gluwein (mulled wine to us Brits) of varying degrees of potency.... we worked our way up to the more alcoholic rum version of Gluwein after looking around the market! Finally deciding we were sufficiently frozen (despite the warming properties of the rum Gluwein) we jumped back on the U-bahn to one of Andi's favourite beer hall haunts and could very easily have gone on drinking and chatting into the night if it wasn't that we would have missed the last train back to the campsite. Cheers again Andi for a fab evening!
