From Sydney we headed to Byron Bay! stayed there over easter weekend and at the same time as a blues festival which is huge in oz, so was very busy and therefore no accomodation. last minute we bought a tent in sydney and hoped for the best, we knew of somwhere that had pitches but it was first com first serve and the day we were arriving was the same day that everyone else was aswell beause of the start of the festival. the coach was meant to get to byron 8:30am so we would have easily got a pitch, but the coach ride didnt go to plan! and at half twelve the wheel busted so we ended sitting two and half hours in a service station waiting for a new bus! tad worried that e were going t have nowhere to stay :( luckily we caught up time and managed to get to the Arts Factory (where we were staying) by about 10:30 and got one of the last pitches! feeeewwwww! spent a lot, infact most of the time on the beach, which was gorgeous and the waves were huge!! on our first night camping we got back to our tent and there was a whole in the door, we thought someone had got in but obviously they would have just unzipped it rather than cut it! looked inside and there was poo and ginger biscuits scattered over the place....were like oh god do snakes poo and bite things....bit worried but the thing that made us think it was a rat was that snakes probably dont eat ginger biscuits! good process of elimination??! i think so! so we had a rat in our tent! but it ran away! we didnt have pillows or a matress and had a tree root underneath me :( but all was good and passed out the whole night! traveled byron with couple of guys we met in sydney which was fun! we partied ALOT and so now im resting until tonight....clubs dont shut until 5 if not later!!! the tan is good as well! we slept on the beach one night, well from about 4am till 6:30 when the sun rise! quite a good nights sleep but ended up with sand in my eyelashed as slept with my head on the sand! and you can never get rid of sand no matter how much you wash! spent a lot longer in byron than we thought because it was so good and easy once wed set up our camp...probably one of my fav places so far!went to surfers paradise from there....was cool to see all the skyscrapers on the beach but not the most interesting of places! it stormed pretty much the whole time we were there so no sunning it up on the beach :( we looked round he shops.and obviously the array of gucci, prada, louis vouittan etc etc were our first choice when shopping! ooooo and i saw a really poisenous snake....but didnt realise it was one of the deadliest kind! it was at the campsite in the bushed and it dropped out of the tree...scary! my tent was always zipped up!!! in brisbane now...and ive done two months travelling!!!! wooo! hope all is good with everyone at home! xxxxx
