Yesterday was my birthday in Australia - thank you for all my lovely Birthday wishes.
Today is my second birthday in Canada – Mum and Dad made my day very special, mostly because I got to spend it with them.
It started with a big sleep in, Mum made me a yummy breakfast – yogurt, raspberries and banana whilst we reminisced of the weeks gone by, it was nice to just think about all the things we did. It felt like we were in LA ages ago!
Spending most of the day at the resort was a nice final day on Vancouver Island before leaving Parksville, lunch was salad and birthday cake – yes I got a beautiful cake and the birthday song!
The afternoon was a stop off, at the post office, then Mum and Dad asked what I wanted to do, and I suggested we be kids again, on my birthday, so for fun, we went to Riptide Lagoon for a round of two lots of Adventure Golf (Mini/Putt Putt Golf we call it) – 36 holes in total, first 18 were tame in lagoon golf, however the last 18 in mountain golf were a real challenge.
It was great to have a laugh, as we ribbed each other during each game, there were some funny moments, especially when the ball returned to the same spot after putting and surprisingly Dad and I got an eagle on a hole each, where we only took one swing and it was in the hole.
First 18 holes - Dad won, then it went me and then Mum, Second 18 holes- the game was won by Mum, then it went Dad and me.
We had a superb dinner at the Pacific Shores Restaurant, an al carte menu that was so hard to choose a dish from the menu as there were so many nice things. I settled with Duck, which was a good choice, Dad had the seafood grill, which was every seafood from the area available and Mum a prawn dish. The restaurant was very special with large aquariums throughout. We didn't stay for dessert as there was still birthday cake left! And Mum makes a great perk coffee on the machine back at the unit.
We noticed over the last week the trees changing with autumn now settled in, and the temperatures are staying around the 10’s or lower.
Good night everyone, another birthday has come and gone, as I tuck up in my cosy bed, with the fire burning, yes I have been lucky enough to have a nice warm fire going as I fall asleep, almost every night since we arrived at Vancouver Island.
