After Luang Probang we headed for Vang Vieng to go tubing. Basically you hire a big rubber ring and then get dropped about 3 km up river of the town and just sit in you ring while the river takes you back to town, stopping at the bars on the way down. In dry season it is mean to take about 4 hours, which is why we cant understand why when we left at 10am we didnt get back to town until about 7pm?? Maybe we stopped in more bars than we thought. hehe.
So then we headed onto Vientiane, not alot elso to see in Vang Vieng apart from all the restaurats playing re-runs of friends. However we got to Vientiane to find that it is the quitetest capital city in the world with not alot to do so we booked a flight fo the very next day to go to Cambodia.
So we arrived in Cambodia yesterday after our extravagent flight with no visa, or photos to get a visa, however they are prepared for people like us at the airport and we got a visa for $20 dollars, with just an extra $1 carge for a photo.
Today we have gone to the killing fields and the prison museum here, it was really horrible to see all the human skulls and alot of the equiptment they used to torture people. I have been reading up a bit about the countrys history and it is so horrible, and so recent that the guide in the museum had actually lived through alot of the horrors. Its wierd thinking I didnt know anything about all the suffering that happed as recently as the late 70s. I think all my history need to improve, I feel so uninformed alot of the time here.
