Hi well we're now in Laos and have travelled quite a distance over the last week. We didn't end up going to Chiang Rai due to time so instead we left Chiang Mai and got on a 7 hour bus to Chiang Khong which is right on the border of Thailand. Hi guys, I ended up having a great time on Sunday exploring Chiang Mai and Jem really enjoyed his cookery course and met loads of cool people. One couple from Adelaide have invited us to stay with them which is lovely!! We spent Sunday night shopping along 'The Walking Street' which is basically a long street with market sellers and amazing food. It starts about 4pm and by the evening it's really busy. Well it's Sunday and we're in Chiang Mai after a bit of a detour!! On Friday we were meant to get a 12hr train journey to Chiang Mai, we got up early (for us!) and got the ferry to the train station to get the 9.42pm train only to discover that that train and all the other trains that day, except one at 11.30pm, were FULL!! Hi everyone, we've spent the last couple of days in Ayuthaya, former capital of Thailand, which is about an hour and a half North of Bangkok. When we arrived yesterday by train we got a river ferry for 3 baht (5p) to our hostal and settled in.
