Hello, we have moved on from Luang Prabang and got a bus to Vang Vieng. What a bus journey it was! It took around 7 hours, hot, slow, loud (the driver honked the horn all the time) and then the tyre burst in the middle of nowhere. Also there was a guy on the bus how had a massive gun hidden under his jacket which was a bit worrying! Wemade it but it was dark and raining so we gave in to a tuk tuk how dropped us off at the bamboo footbridge (the picture, it turned out the guesthouse was full so we ran to the closest place which turned out to be a bed on the floor of a wooden hut lol it cost about 1 pound 50 a night. So we checked out straight away and though we would spoil ourselves with a riverside bungalow it was only about 7 pounds each a night but the is loads here (over 200,000 kip). It had a bath!! and aircon, was very luxury. We haven;t had aircon in so long it dried my eyes out lol. It was quite lucky we got the nice place because Hen started to not feel so good and we spent a lot of time there. We occasionally went out for some food and a look round. All the cafes here either play friends, family guy or the Simpsons over and over again so we watched a good few hours of TV. I like the barbers here, they have a little chair outside with Barbers written above it. The next day Hen started to feel a bit better so we went tubing. Tubing goes like this: lots of people stuffed into a pick up truck like a bunch of round up immigrants, drops you off at a river with a tube, climb in tube, float down river, lots of bars. You basically wave and a bar with pull you in, so you can have drinks there and there a big rope swings and buckets of cocktails, then you tube to the next place, and keep going, you can go to all the bars or none, its pretty crazy. I was number 286 and at the first bar the was someone with number 18! i think he had been tubing since 9am.
We have seen lots of weird things on our travels, like a dog in a tuk tuk (where was he going!?), giants duck in Loas, the are so huge. A scorpian in a bucket (alive), a huge cow running down a mountain path (we were on!), snake wine and many more.
I hope everyone is OK at home, and it is sunny. Henry says hi to everyone too :-) Will wait until back in Thailand to put photos on, computers are not to good here lol.
Lots of love abbey and henry
