Yeah, a bit over the snow now. But more on that in my Newfoundland blog...
Toronto, Toronto, what did we do in Toronto? We spent the first couple of days in a semi-nice hotel to relax (can't get used to doing that too often). We watched lots of dodgy TV - Die Hard and True Lies, the censorship in Canada is terrible! "Yippe Kay Ay Mother *insert silence here*". How can you watch Die Hard like that? It's an insult to Bruce.
Then onto a hostel, which was pretty cute - like a Victorian house, and they had a couple of cute cats wandering around.
Now, the snow - it was awesome at first, then it just got too bloody cold to do anything! Like minus 12 - that's just not cool.
So anyway - Monday we walked around the Kensington markets and bought a few things we didn't need. Monday night we went to see Evil Dead: The Musical which was so awesomely dodgy. Loved it.
Tuesday we braved the zoo in freezing temperatures and snow and wind and all those things. We really wanted to see moose but they were locked away because it was too cold! For moose! Figure that one? So we were the idiots out in the cold while the moose slept inside. But we did see arctic wolves and beavers and lynx and bison and cool things like that. It snowed pretty much the whole time we were there and we freezed, but it was still fun. Since the zoo was abandoned we had a snowfight and attempted to build a snow man, without much luck (see the photos when I can finally get them up).
Wednesday we went on a day trip to Niagara Falls which was awesome - the falls were pretty amazing. It was funny though, because on one side you had this gorgeous view of the falls with snow and ice and rainbows, then on the other side it was just major tack. Giant plastic dinosuars and gorillas, 'haunted houses', a WWE store - all class. We had a great day though.
Then on Thursday I (Sarah) went off to Newfoundland! More about that in another post... Jess may have more to say about Toronto, but at the moment we're trying to find a place to stay in New York tomorrow, without much luck.
Photos will be up in the next couple of days, the computers here are, like most of them, crap!
Til' then...
