After a surprisingly good breakfast in the youth hostel, we leave Nordkapp in the cold and wet to retrace our steps back south for about 100 miles. My fuel guage was showing empty when we got to the petrol station - about 0.2 litre left in the tank, phew that was a close thing. We cross into Finland and boy another riding treat on the empty roads. No great excitement however as the day wears on we realise that there are lots of trees in Finland and it all gets bit samey. About 8 miles from our final destination we cross the artic circle and Steve and I stop for photos and obligatory souvenir stickers. This is lapland and there are Santa's grottos everywhere. No doubt very busy in December.
Our place for the night is in Rovaniemi in a trendy Hostel called Hostel Cafe Koti. Clean and modern with a twin room for Steve and I.
The six in our group excluding Nick have a good meal in a local restuarant in town. I have reindeer steak which was very good.
Still light here at 11 o'clock and now time for bed. Goodnight!
