Got a local bus quite quick and charp to Mzuzu. The drive was very nice along the coast. At one point everyone on the bus stood up looking out of the window so we did too. It turned out a bus had crashed a couple of weeks ago killing dozens of people. A bit more nervous for the rest of the journey. In Mzuzu we got out money as supposedly no ATM's in the bay and got on local minibus. At Nkhata Bay we went to a hotel/resort called Niaja it was more expensive than we thought. The stone challet was on the shore. The thing that drove us away was the flies millions of them no exaggeration piles of them dead. It was crazy owner said it happens for three days every year.
In the morning flies still everywhere so we hitched up our bags and headed to Mayoka village where Brent and Kathy were staying. A very nice place the friendliest staff and great snorkelling just outside our door. We did very little caught up with Brent and Kathy and after a few powers persuaded them to stay another day. A power is a shot in a small plastic bag made out of cane its 40% and costs about 10 pence a bag.
Today Mayoka was running a free boat trip so along we went. We got to see the trick with the fish eagle again. I also got to do some cliff jumping not the highest but good fun. At the beach we played football with some local kids won 6-1 but the average age of the opposition was 12. My legs were also covered in scratches and bruises no holding back on the beach. That bid farewell to Brent and Kathy again sure we will met up with them again.
Had a nice lazy day snorkelling laying around. That night we went to see the most popular band in Malawi the 'Black Missionairies'. It was a longtime before they came on and we had a few beers and powers. Keeley even drunk a beer unbelievable. We danced for ages the first band played until midnight at least we left at half two had another drink with some Finnish back at the village. Really enjoyed our time in Nkhata bay.
