Well as you can see. We are rich, filthy rich!! Well not quite, but we sold the van...i'll come to that later, first lets pick up where we left off! So we continued our drive around the SE corner of Australia looking for waves and good car parks for Red Rum to do Suduko puzzles in! The surf gods werent as kind whenwe got to Victoria and neither was the weather - dropping to a daily high of 16 degrees! the coldest day in 50 years in november (dont worry though its 36 today!!). So en-route to our next surf spot, Phillip Island, we stopped in another warm JB Motel to thaw out and come up with a plan, and that we did, to cut a long story short we thought that as no one wants us to come home early we'd have to get maxium money for the sale of the van, so Bec was prepared to miss a few days sitting in the car parks to get to Melbourne and try and sell the Turkey! To cut another long story short we ended up being made an offer of $3000 that day by the first couple who looked at it! Well this was double what we'd get on our buy back guarantee so we were well up for it, not before a few more car parks had been tested by bec though on Phillip island - famous for moto grand prix, penguins and good surf! Had a few nice days here, got some good waves, but when the weekend came and half of melbourne turned up it was a bit busy but never mind! We also sat in the freezing dark watching the daily landing of 300 penguins which come in to feed their young - it was pretty funny as they were so scared about walking up the beach as they cant walk fast so are vulnerable to predators so they keep running back into the sea in groups when one of them poops them self - probably the floodlights which scared them the most though!! We also sold 2 of our boards and 2 wetsuits on phillip island, we got good $ for them and Becky got a deal from a shop which included $200 cash and $200 stock - so she HAD to buy some new stuff -shame that hey!! Well she was in her element and an hour later came out with a new watch (apparently its her "interview Watch"!) and a new dress for the Big O's wedding!
So we handed over the van yesterday and made our way to a hostel with more bags than the bag lady who hangs around sainsburys, i was sweating my skinny legs off carrying everything but the kitchen sink! We were hoping to hire a van today to go to the Great Ocean Road for a week before we fly to NZ to meet the big O and lisa, but we couldnt get one til weds, so we are city folk until then. But we dont mind as we got a nice private room and are going to a wacky Art expo tonight so that should be fun! Yep all good here, sad to say goodbye to our van, but happy to feel the foil of the dollar! Cant wait for NZ aswell, but before then we got a date with Bells beach and a bit of a windy road!
