My journal entries are a little bit long as it is normally, so i'll try and keep it short - probably best to look at the photos and read the discriptions on them as we have done so much lately!
Firstly, we hope everyone had good christmas and new years. We certainly did, not your traditional one but that doesnt matter as we had so much fun! Xmas eve was awesome, me and bec checked into the 19th floor apartment in auckland, with a corner view patio of the harbour views. We hit the gym, spa and sauna straight away, and then when Beckys parents arrived, the mince pies and wine! We had 3 days in Auckland, xmas day was a picnic on the beach on an island offshore from auckland, and then Tim (beckys brother) arrived and the road trip started. We drove south to Rotorua, then onto Wellington. Where apon we flew to Christchurch and collected the monster motorhome! We drove the beast south through the valleys to the beautiful lake Teakapo then onto Queestown for new years eve! We had so much fun here, and then off back through the mountainous roads to go hiking up Franz Joesf Glacier. Then we continued the circuit up the west coast and then back to Christchurch. We covered alot of distance in a week and saw some stunning scenery, the clear blue lakes and the snow capped mountains over the southern alps never wore thin. We also did alot and i mean alot of eating, so we have the classic xmas "paunch"! Beckys parents were so generous to us both and we cant thank them enough, we had a great time with them. Living in the van was luxury to us, but im not sure it was quite so down thier street? Although beckys dad seemed pretty happy driving along singing along to the foofighters!
So its just the 2 of us now. We are trying to find waves to work off the paunch, not to much luck over the last couple of days. But never mind sure we'll get some good ones soon! Back to the north island on thursday and then its indo again in 2 weeks!
