After our little jaunt in Byron, we flew to sydney to meet up with those ugly people sat next to us in the photo and watch the womens WCT surfing event at Manly. The waves for the comp were characteristically poor, but they held it and the girls ripped, we clocked up about 10 hours of watching which was pretty good! We constantly scanned the competition site looking for freebees but they were short in supply! We've been putting in our own water time having some rather poor surfs at Manly, Dee Why and Curl Curl. That was all made up for (well for me anyway!) with some lovely 3-4ft barrels at North Narrabean this morning. Shame that it only lasted about 30 mins until the tide got too high and it lost its quality, but i had some good'uns and enjoyed watching pro surfer Ozzie Wright show us how it really should be done!

We are staying in a nice place which is a bit like a B&B, but with only the one B! mark and aurelie are staying in their van in the back yard and using the facilities which is all good. We are staying in Manly, which is one of the northern beaches, and will be going to stay in sydney city centre on sunday to see the main sights! When we arrived here it was 18 degrees, but now its sooo hot at over 30; walking around with faces covered in zinc looking like ghosts is the only way to go!

Tonight we are going out for a nice Thai with the crew, and Kayte who i went to university with is coming out which will be nice...funny where you bump into people!

flying back to brisbane on monday and physcologically preparing ourselves for the arrival of Mr and Mrs H and our 3 day sailing trip on the Whitsundays!
