Been here for over three weeks so may not remember everything we have done. First two nights in a hostel and it was hot very hot in a ten bed dorm fan just moved hot air around. We did have an evening meal included but it was not much food and I had to upgrade. First day we walked all the way through town, the botanical gardens and then on to St. Kilda miles. Went to victoria market bought some sunglasses which a couple of days later melted in the sun.
From there we moved into our flat. This is not backbacking four rooms loads of space big oven big fluffy towels and cleaned every Friday. Next two weeks were spent relaxing in our flat and at the tennis. Saw some impressive tennis Nadal looked awesome was sure he was going to win. Of course he didn't. Hands down the weirdest serve was Bartolli who looked like a mouse. It seemed to take forever and it did not help as she lost in first round. Andy Murray went out in first round but Tosonga did make final so not too bad. Also watched Jamie lose in the mens and mixed doubles not lots for the british to cheer on. The event was vey well run never had to queue for anything not like back home. On the final day thought we would go watch on the big screen in the stadium however it was that packed we just watched the band and went back home. The Veronicas (the band) were good but not that good that I am going to buy the record. The only real queue was to get free Garnier products I did queue for Keeley and we both got a free massage after an hour wait not sure it was worth it.
On my birthday got a cake with twenty nine candles on it next one thirty scary stuff. Had some friends we met on new year over to our flat cooked junk food in the oven and drunk lots of wine good night. It was good to be able to invite people over. We have walked up and down the Yarra river a lot it is a very nice river but maybe we have seen it enough. Lots of rowers on the river with people on bikes shouting at them through a megaphone I also offered words of encouragement.
Went to see a exhibition about Nick Cave it was interesting reinforced my opinion that he is a very strange man. Went to Cinema you can take your own alcohol and food in not like an cineworld where they practicaly pad you down before letting you in. Been to the art gallery and the main museum. The museum was good fun lots of interactive games (Aaron's favourite was the button that made a fart sound to show the end of the digestion process). The 3D show was impresive you could circle round the 3D images as they moved. Spent a lot of our time lazing around in the park or in St. Kilda. Did manage a varation on our walking exercise when we went to the pool. It was a fifty metre pool and managed to swim a KM and a half.
Had to leave our flat today which is sad and moved our stuff into a ten bed dorm in St. Kilda. Went out to see a comdedian as part of St. Kilda festival was funny and we had free tickets the venue was however a sauna. Sweat and laughter. Off to the great ocean road tomorrow so only staying for the night.
