Our first day in Austria was in a Gorge following the Danube from Passau to Weidet. We stayed on the north shore and had to take to ferries because the trail stopped. These ferries are specifically for bicycles. About 10k before Weidet we popped out of the gorge into farm land.
Our campground is mainly for the swimming lakes near by. There is golfing, swimming and a lot of biking in this area. It was not crowded when we pulled in which surprised us because of the number of bicycle tourists on the route. It was hot and the host allowed us to pitch were the carvans go so we had shade.
