Friday November 30th and the All African adventurers with Kal and the Captain (Morgan Rum that is) rolled out of Cape Town, windows down and African music pumping.It had been a long time coming and we were all pretty chuffed. To quote a famous explorer " Of the gladdest moments in human life…... is the departure on a distant journey into unknown lands". The plan for the first week or so was simple, unwind from the hectic last minute preparations, test drive the new gear and setup, and chew up a few km's heading NE across South Africa.The first drive was a long one but it felt good to finally be on the road. The first couple of hundred km's and the scenery was spectacular, but it soon turned flat and semi-arid(a lot like driving in country Qld) and the reality of the long drive days ahead dawned on us, but who cares, it still beats work.
