So I just wanted to put this in writing. I couldn't find a script anywhere, and I heard this amazing speech online last night. Spoken by Pico Iyer, I was so inspired. He is born in India, but has lived the majority of his life between England and Japan. He talks about what 'home,' means. And currently, the number of expats (by which I mean foreigners who live in nonnative countries) around the world number higher than the population of Australia and Canada ---- twice.
I am one of those over 200 million. And this inspired me.
These are just my favorite excerpts, but search "Where is Home," Ted Talks for the full speech.

"Where you come from is much less important than where you're going. More and more of us are rooted in the future or present tense, as well as in the past. After all, 'home,' we know, is not just the place you happen to be born, it's the place you become yourself. Some of us travel the world over to find it. And yet, there is one great problem with movement, and that is, it's really hard to get your bearings when you're in midair. I begin to think that movement is only as good as the stillness you can bring it it - to put it in perspective. And I think back to this wonderful phrase I have learned: "That man is poor, not who has little, but who hankers after more." I do think it's only by stopping movement, that you can see where to go. And it's only by stepping out of your life, that you can see what you most deeply care about, and find that home. Movement is a fantastic privilege, and it allows us to do so much. But movement, ultimately only has meaning if you have a home to get back to. And home, in the end, of course, is not just the place where you sleep, it's the place where you stand." - Pico Iyer
