We arrived in London last week to visit our cousins and have been so busy that we haven't had time to blog! I have lots to share about London, but I will start with our cooking experience. Last night my cousin Cynthia arranged for 11 of us to take a cooking class at Jamie Oliver's cooking school called Recipease. Recipease is a store in Notting Hill where you can come to shop, have coffee and pastries, or take a cooking class. We were all gathered around a center island where our teacher Colleen taught us how to make pasta from scratch. We learned how to make the dough, roll it through a pasta roller, make the filling, and then shape our pasta. It was fantastic. I thought making pasta from scratch would be really difficult, but it is not. Once Colleen demonstrated for us, we all went to our own individual stations and made our own dinners. We made pasta with ricotta and spinach filling, a butter basil sauce, finished with fresh parmesan cheese. We each cooked our own bowl of pasta and then sat down together at a long table to eat dinner. The strange thing about the class is that you are in the middle of the store. So as you are trying your best to make something new, people are walking around the store looking at you. Lots of people asked us questions and Lucy had people ask her if she worked there! It was a fabulous experience. I couldn't believe that I could make my own pasta and that it would taste so good. So much fun and something I would love to do again. I have posted some pictures from our cooking class for you to enjoy. Thanks, Wendy
