We were walking in the Latin Quarter and David found this hat at an outdoor shop. He stopped and put it on and said, "hey mom what do you think about this hat?" When I turned around I just broke in to a smile. This is coming from the kid that wouldn't keep a hat on when he was little, ever. So I said, "I think it looks great." He said, "Well I think my friends at home might make fun of me, but it looks like what the guys where here, so I think I'll get it." We went in the store, bargained the guy down 2 euros, and he hasn't taken it off since.
On the drive in to Paris David said, "I really want to learn to speak another language. Dad do you think when we get home you could get me a spanish tutor?" Again coming from the kid that doesn't like school. Arch and I just looked at each other and said, "that would be great David."
And finally, when Arch and I were living in Aspen, Colorado we would ride our bikes to the Woody Creek Tavern, pretty much a dive of a place, and the waitress would ask what color wine, red, pink, or white? We would just giggle. Well the jokes on us because pink wine (rose) is very popular here in France. At the beginning of our trip at the vineyard this was the wine we drank all the time. So 2 nights ago Arch says he is going to the store to get some wine. When he walked back in with the bottle of Rose I just giggled and thought, when in France...
