Hey guys! Short blog this time!
After a pretty mammoth journey, well for us, we settled into Ao Nang, Krabi for 5 nights! Both of our accommodations were pretty good, with the exception of a few little things! The first was a cute little bungalow, unfortunately for me, Miss 'I wont need earplugs' this place was so close to nature it was daft, we felt like we were truly in Thailand what with the Mr. Gheko noises, frogs croaking, grasshoppers and various other indistinguishable noises! I text Dan to say that 'we were truly in Thailand', think he found the whole thing quite amusing! The second was pretty nice, a lot quieter on the nature front but had a distinct 'dive boat smell', if you have ever been on one you will know what I mean by that! And a shared bathroom. The shared bathroom thing is fine as we had been doing it for long enough but the lock to the other peoples doors was distinctly iffy and wouldn't lock properly, every time you went into take a shower you had to keep an eye on the door so the girls next door didn't burst in by accident, scary stuff!
Ao Nang is a lovely little beachside town, pretty touristy, which to some people may put them off but its pretty handy having everything you need (and dont need but the stall/shop keeperers think you need) to hand! Walking up and down the same street over a period of days we were continually recognized by the same people trying to sell us things to the extent that when I was walking alone they would ask where 'my friend'- Joey was and visa verse. Its all pretty amusing!
Ao Nang is pretty stunning, the beach is set amongst (cliffs/big hunks of rocks) along the coastline covered in lush greenery! I really should have kept up with my geography to know the correct terms of these things! All along the beach are colorfully decorated long-tail boats and some palm treas, lovely! Our time on Ao Nang was spent in a rather lazy fashion. Beach, lunch, beach, lovely sunsets, dinner, few drinks.... Its a hard life ;)
The sunsets here are pretty amazing and it was so lovely each day at 5 to sit down and watch the last of the light of the day dissapear into yellows, ornages and golds across the sky at 6. Made all the more stunning by the colours being left over the whisps of cloud across the sky, loads of photos to come, naturally, of these :) As the sun had finally come out to play too so we finally got a chance to top up our tans a bit!
After 5 days here we decided it was time to move onto the islands so booked onto a boat to Ko Lanta for a few days, then onto Koh Phi Phi before heading back to Ao Nang where we will meet up with Mike and David, I am sure we will see a little more of the area at that time so more to come on Krabi in a week or so!
